Quietness of Soul

Dear Diary,

Sometimes standing still and doing nothing is the greatest thing we can do. Naomi said to Ruth, “Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall” (Ruth 3:18). God is in control and we just need to sit still and allow Him to work. He knows all that will transpire and He shall bring it to completion. Elisabeth Elliot said, “Don’t you think that He who manages the galaxies and designs the tiniest little animal can run your life? You can trust Him.” Once we “let go and let God” He gives us quietness of soul. There are times when we must merely be an onlooker. It may be then that we learn to sit still in perfect peace and quietness of soul observing how God will work it all out.

Thought for Today: Quietness of soul is what God’s grace gives. Fret not, but wait on God’s timing, God’s plan and God’s perfect will.
