Secret Agents

Dear Diary,

We never know why God allows certain things to happen.  Then later, when we look back, we see that it was a blessing in disguise.  Sometimes it is hard to thank God for things which seem evil.  But it is then that we must remind ourselves that, “This is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (I Thess. 5:18), not someone else, but you.  Corrie ten Boom, who was put into a concentration camp for helping Jews escape persecution, could not give thanks for the fleas.  Her sister, Betsy, told her that she needs to give thanks in all things.  But Corrie refused to thank God for the fleas.  But then she realized that it was those very fleas that kept the soldiers out of the barracks so she and her sister could have Bible Studies and prayer meetings with the other women.  I guess you could say that the fleas were God’s secret agents.

Thought for Today:  In difficult times we must put our trust in God and realize that this is God’s will concerning you.
