The Tool

Dear Diary,

When Solomon built the temple, no hammer or axe or tool of iron was used in the house.  The temple was built of stone and every stone was made ready outside before it was brought into the house.  In the same way, God is preparing us to be ready to be brought into His house.  All the tools to: make us, mold us, and shape us are used here on earth.  Sometimes God has to use a special tool, one we have never experience before.  And we say, “Why did God allow this or that to happen?”  Little do we realize that it is God’s tool used to shape us perfectly to fit into His house.  How disappointed the builders of the temple were when a stone could not be used for the temple because it had not been made ready before it was brought into the house.  May we accept any tool used by God to make us perfect.

Thought for Today:  “If thou knew my purpose for thee, thou would welcome any tool if only it prepared thee quietly and perfectly to fit into the place in my house” (Amy Carmichael).
