II Corinthians 13:5 tells us to, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith.” We all need to do this and there are three tests by which to examine yourself . First, is the Moral Test; Second, is the Social Test; and Third, is the Doctrinal Test. Moral Test: Do you keep the Lord’s commandments? “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him and keepeth not his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (I John 2:3-4). We are to no longer practice sin – in thought, word or deed. Social Test: “We are to love one another. “He that saith he is in the light and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth he brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him” (I John 2:9-10). You are to love your enemies and pray for those who despitefully use you. Doctrinal Test: Believe on Jesus and him only. “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (I John 5:11-12).
Thought For Today: After you examine your life and pass these three test, you can be assured of your Salvation. I John 5:13 tells us, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.”
