All Is of God

Dear Diary,

Oh, how I love scripture.  I listen to it all day long.  As I listen to scripture there are three principles I see throughout.  First, is that God is in all and all is of God. There is not one thing that happens, no not one, but that God allowed it or ordained it.  “Christ is all and in all” (Colossians 3:11).  Second, is that God has mercy on those who humble themselves before Him, no matter how wicked they were.  I see this over and over again.  One example is the wicked King of Israel, Ahab, who when he humbled himself and walked softly before God, God showed him mercy.  “Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me?  Because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days” (I Kings 21:29).  Third, is that God honors those who honor Him.  “For them that honour me I will honour” (I Samuel 2:30).  Oh, what a great and merciful God we have who loves us and shows us mercy though we don’t deserve it.

Thought for Today:  “There is no circumstance that can thwart the will of God in your life.  None – absolutely none” (Elisabeth Elliot).
