A quest speaker came to our church and he preached on Mark 8:38, “Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words…of him also shalt the Son of man be ashamed when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels” (Mark 8:38). Are you ashamed of Jesus? When you go out to eat are you ashamed to bow your head and pray? When you are around strangers are you ashamed to mention the name of Jesus? When you are at the work place are you ashamed to talk to your co-workers about Jesus? What do you do when people you are with take the name of Jesus in vain? Do you do nothing or do you defend the name of Jesus? Scripture says if you are ashamed of Jesus, He will be ashamed of you before the Father. We need to be brave enough to take a stand for Christ regardless of who it upsets or who it makes feel awkward. Not too many of us are asked to denounce Christ, or die. All Jesus asks of us is to be true to Him regardless of who we are with or what circumstances we are in. May we never be ashamed to lift up the name of Jesus.
Thought for Today: “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32-33)
