“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” (I Peter 4:12-13). We must not see our trials as a curse, but as a blessing, for it is a trial as partakers with Christ’s sufferings. Hopefully, through the fiery trials we will be drawn closer to Christ. We are not only given a chance to search our own heart through each fiery trial, but it also gives others a chance to minister by showing us kindness and caring. Therefore, through our personal trials the entire body of Christ begins to function as God would have it for the edifying of the saints and the glorifying of our Lord, working together “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
Thought for Today: Lord, help us be loving, caring, sympathetic, and helpful to those going through a fiery trial and show Christ’s love.
