Morning! How I love it. It is the time when birds start to sing as first light peeks through the darkness. It is the time when all things start fresh and new. Yesterday’s fatigue has fled and our strength is renewed. There is no time in the day like morning, free from yesterday’s defeats. It is the top of the mount where my Lord and I meet. In the night Satan buffeted, but in the morning he did retreat. “Shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night” (Psalm 92:2). “Blessed is the day whose morning is sanctified! Successful is the day whose first victory was won in prayer! Holy is the day whose dawn finds thee on the top of the mount” (Joseph Parker). “He wakeneth morning by morning. He wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned” (Isaiah 50:4). “I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning” (Psalm 59:16). A new day await us each morning.
Thought for Today: “Come up in the morning…and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount” (Exodus 34:2).
