Sunday, February 29, 2004 4:05 a.m. (This was a leap year!)
Each one of us has just so many years, given by God, to do for God what we will. Who knows how many years we each have; but, these few short years determine where we will spend eternity. I remember witnessing to a man and I asked him, “What do you believe?” I can still see him sitting in his rocking chair in his living room and he said, “I believe there is a Judgment Day. But as for making it to heaven, you won’t know until you get there. If the good out weighs the bad Saint Pet will let you in.” I witnessed to him about Jesus and told him the truth, but he wouldn’t listen. He died that year, and I can assure you, he didn’t make it to heaven with that belief. It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ any of us will be allowed to enter into heaven. But he was right about one thing. There is a Judgment Day. For we shall all one day stand before God. The saved will stand before God at the Judgment Seat of Christ, (II Corinthians 5:10) and the unbelieving will stand before God at the Great White Throne (Revelation 20:11-12). So, yes, there is a Judgment Day. Are you ready?
Thought for Today: “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power…” (Revelation 20:6).
