In distress, I opened my Bible and once again was comforted by Isaiah 41:10. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed, for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” This is a verse that silences our fears and encourages faith. Isaiah 41:10 also gave comfort and strength to my father, Reverend Mark Houseman. Once he was deathly ill, but he and his gospel quartet had to sing that evening on their evangelistic tour. He opened his Bible and it opened to Isaiah 41:10. Through this verse God gave my father the strength he needed to continue on, sing and preach. In that same way it strengthened me. Then I read Isaiah 43:2. “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” That was all I needed, I was comforted and strengthened.
Thought for Today: God knows, God cares, God loves us and no matter what He leads us though He will walk beside us, protect us, and always provide.
