Have you ever prayed for something and then jumped up from your praying and proceeded to do what you thought would be best, instead of waiting upon the Lord? We are spiritual frogs. We jump from praying to doing without waiting. There is wisdom and strength in waiting. Oswald Chambers said, “Some of us go in jumps like spiritual frogs, we jump from worship [prayer] to waiting, and from waiting to work” (My Utmost for His Highest, p.6). We need to wait until we hear an answer from the Lord. But, so often, if God does not answer our prayer in the time frame we have allotted for Him to answer, we find our own way to accomplish our ends. Oswald Chambers warns, “If you do, you will end in making difficulties that will take years of time to put right. Wait for God’s time to bring it around and He will do it without any heartbreak or disappointment.” (My Utmost for His Highest, p.4). We are to wait for God to move and not jump ahead.
Thought for Today: God is never in a hurry, but He is never late.
