How wonderful to be a believer in this present age and be a part of the body of Christ – The Church. We, The Church, are also the Bride of Christ in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. “…Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.” (Revelation 19:9). I’ve been reading Isaiah. Even though it is Old Testament, Jesus is revealed throughout. Isaiah 7:14 reveals Jesus as the Messiah. “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14). Isaiah also reveals Jesus as the Lamb that was slain. “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth:he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.” (Isaiah 53:7). Again, Isaiah 42:1-7 reveals Jesus as the creator of heaven and earth, and the light unto the Gentiles and the coming King. Jesus Christ is revealed throughout Isaiah. Isaiah is the Old Testament revealed in the New Testament.
Thought for Today: In the temple Jesus read, “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to then that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord…” (Isaiah 61:1). When Jesus read this passage of scripture in the temple (Luke 4:18), He opened the day of Grace.
