“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.” (John 1:1-2). These two verses tell us the deity of Jesus Christ. Jesus is God.
Revelation 19:13 says, “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God.” This verse tells us that the name of Jesus is the Word.
John 17:5 proclaims “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” Jesus created the heavens and the earth. This verse tells us that Jesus is the Creator.
John 1:14 explains, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” The Word was God.
I John 5:7 identifies the Trinity. “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” Jesus is the Second in the Trinity.
Thought for Today: “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” (I John 5:20).
