I’ve been reading My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers. What an appropriate title. That is what we are to give to God – our utmost. We are to seek God’s face. We are not to seek blessings or even answered prayer, but God and His will. So, what is the will of God for your life? “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (I Thessalonians 5:18). We look for the will of God and never dream that it is all around us. Oswald Chambers said, [The will of God] “is in the common places and people around us” (My Utmost for His Highest, p. 38). Our “doing” for God is in being there for the people around us; in edifying and lifting up Christ to them. The Deity of Christ is revealed in our love for our fellow worker in the commonplace of our everyday life. Lord, help me seek Thy face, and in the seeking find Thee in the common places and people around me.
Thought for Today: “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.” (Isaiah 55:6).
