Yesterday was the first day of Spring. Another Spring has come. It’s funny how life just goes on and on and repeats itself. Year after Year, cycle after cycle with each generation experiencing the same things. That is why King Solomon wrote, “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the Sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Ecclesiastes is a book of man “under the sun.” C. I. Scofield notes says that Ecclesiastes tells the “reasoning about life; it is the best man can do, with the knowledge that there is a holy God, and that He will bring everything into judgment” (p.696).
One generation passes away, another generation follows. Not one generation may say, “See this is new! It has already been done in generations passed. It has already been run in times of old. There is no remembrance of former things, neither remembrance of things to come. All shall be gone, with nothing new. For there is no new thing under the sun. (Poem by Josie Blocher)
Thought for Today: Enjoy each day while it last, for soon it shall be passed.
