No one wants to hear those dreaded works – cancer, Alzheimer’s, heart attack, M.S. We all think it will never happen to us; but it does! So what is our duty when bad things happen? Our duty is to glorify God; to live in our pain what we professed in our health. It is hard to do this, but we must; or else our faith is vain. Sometimes it would just be easier to give up, but we can’t. We must live in our dark times what we learned in the light. In II Corinthians 1:8-9 Paul says, “…we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead.” When bad things happen our strength is not in ourselves, but in God. We must rely on His strength. No matter what pain, trials, and bad times you are called upon to face, always remember: God knows, God cares and God is in control.
Thought for Today: Nothing can happen to us without first passing through the loving hands of God.
