Oswald Chambers said, “If you do not cut the moorings (moorings being the lines of safety) God will have to break them by a storm and send you out (My Utmost for His Highest, p.160). Moorings are a harbor of safety. What is your harbor of safety? If you will not go out where God leads on your own, He will cut your moorings and send you out sailing into the depths of God where He, and He alone, can keep you from drowning. As Peter had to keep his eyes on Jesus to keep from drowning, so we must keep our eyes on Him. Jesus is our anchor in the great swelling tide of His purposes. Ask God to open unto you all that He would have you do. “Beware of harking back to what you were once, when God wants you to be something you have never been”(My Utmost for His Highest, p.160).
Thought for Today: Don’t be afraid to leave your safe harbor. Venture out where Jesus leads. He wants you to be so much more.
